How to Get to Gili Islands
The Gili islands are indeed wonderful places to visit in the whole of Lombok. You can always have the best of tourism and holidays in any of the islands. Basically, there are 3 islands that make up the Gilis. They include Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air. Gili Trawangan is the largest. It’s known as a befitting party island where men and women gather to enjoy themselves. Gili Air is the second in rank. It has a well developed local community. Gili Meno is sandwiched between the other two islands. It’s also a good place to have a nice time.

You can also fly to Bali using airline and from there; you can then take a boat to the Gili Islands. It’s good to note that, there are no airports in the Gili Islands. The only closest airport is located on the provincial capital of Lombok, Mataram. Hence, you have to either get to Lombok or Bali first by plane before you’ll think of reaching the Gilis by boat.
When it comes to traveling by boats down to the Gili islands, there are options to choose from. You can decide to go by ferry or through a fast boat. You’ll always locate the ferries and the fast boats at strategic locations within Bali. In most cases, fast boats are usually costlier but, they are far better than ferries. They are usually well equipped with international safety standards. Hence, you can be sure of getting to the Gili Islands through the fast boats.

Eka Jaya also leaves Padang Bai Bali every morning and reaches Gil Trawangan after 2 hours. It also gets back through the same route. BlueWater Express departs Serangan Harbor in Bali every morning to get to the Gili Islands within 2 hours. Gili-Gili also departs Benoa Nusa Dua to get to Gili Trawangan every morning.
